A travelling chicken who made it from Campbell River to Nanaimo on board a transportation truck has found a new home.

The chicken, named Henrietta by staff at Nanaimo Animal Control, was adopted by a farm near Nanaimo. Nanaimo Animal Control took care of Henrietta after she was discovered on Nov. 8 having hitched a ride from Campbell River.

“She’s been adopted to a farm with a very happy, loving owner that was very enthralled by the chicken’s dynamic history,” said Mike Sherman from Nanaimo Animal Control.
